So much has changed in the print industry since we first began. We started as a silk screen printing company. Now we have a large suite of lithographic presses, book binding, carton manufacturing, secure printing and digital print facilities in our 200,000sq ft campus.

Our Journey so far

1959

Irish Silkscreen (Colorman) was established in 1959 as a Silk Screen printing company specialising in Point of Sale material and hoarding posters employing 3 people.

1966

We bought our first sheet-fed printing press and switched to Lithographic printing.

1970

Colorman became one of Ireland's leading general colour commercial printers employing 50 people serving the growing advertising industry.

1975

We expanded our premises from 15,000sq feet to 30,000sq feet.

1981

After a name change, Irish Silkscreen became known as Colorman and purchased two 8-colour presses.

1984

Colorman got our first IT technical manual contract with a multi-national company and began shipping product throughout the whole of Europe. More contracts were to follow.

1985

We built a state of the art new studio on our existing campus.

1990

We purchased a 5 colour press and were employing 100 people.

1991

We first obtained ISO 9001 certification.

2000

Following the death of our founder, Bob Burke, the management team bought the company and it continues to be Irish-owned and managed to this day.

2004

We obtained the ISO standard: ISO 9001:2000.

2005

Colorman began supplying folding cartons to the pharmaceutical and medical device sector.

2009

Digital printing arrives in Colorman with our first digital press.

2013

We opened our secure print facility and began producing cards for the IT and FMCG sectors.

2015

We obtained the ISO standard : ISO27001

2021

We currently employ over 200 people.

Quality Certifications Overview

Colorman (Ireland) Limited first obtained the ISO 9000 certification in 1991 through the elimination of waste and the documentation of all processes. There have been many upgrades to the original certification and in 2004 Colorman (Ireland) Limited was officially registered to the new ISO standard: ISO 9001:2000.
