Colorman Ireland has a long history of providing quality print and packaging services to businesses across Ireland, UK, Europe and America.
In 1959, Irish Silkscreen (later Colorman) was established as a Silk Screen printing company specialising in Point of Sale material and hoarding posters. At the time, the company employed 3 people.
In 1966, we bought our first sheet-fed printing press and switched to Lithographic printing.
By 1970, Colorman had become one of Ireland's leading general colour commercial printers, employing 50 people serving the growing advertising industry.
In 1975, our premises expanded from 15,000sq feet to 30,000sq feet.
After a name change in 1981, Irish Silkscreen became Colorman Ireland and purchased two 8-colour presses.
The first multi-national company contract won by Colorman came in 1984 and the team began shipping products throughout Europe. More contracts were to follow.
With the growing contract wins, in 1985 a new art studio was built on our existing campus. As the business continued to go, a 5 colour press was purchased in 1990 with 100 people employed.
In 1991, Colorman first obtained ISO 9001 certification. In 2000, following the death of our founder, Bob Burke, the management team bought the company and it continues to be Irish-owned and managed to this day.
2004, was the year we obtained the ISO standard: ISO 9001:2000. In 2005, we started supplying folding cartons to the pharmaceutical and medical device sector. Digital printing arrived in Colorman in 2009 with our first digital press.
We opened our secure print facility in 2013 and began producing cards for the IT and FMCG sectors. In 2015, Colorman obtained the ISO standard : ISO27001
In recent years Colorman Ireland has continued to grow. In 2021, the business was acquired by Woodberry Packaging. [read more]. The company has a continuous investment programme in place with new state-of-the-art machinery introduced continuously.
In 2024, Colorman installed Heidelberg 102 XL lithographic perfecting Printing Press with optional reel fed sheets to maximise paper usage beyond what is achievable with a sheet only press. This allowed significant savings in thermal and electrical energy.
We are now installing a new ACCUCHECK and Bobst Carton4 line in our cartons department. This machinery ensures a quality guarantee which is extremely important for our customers in the pharmaceutical and medical device manicuring industries
